Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Navy Beans 1 16 oz (454 g) Bag
Linguiça 1
Chouriço 1
Potatoes1 5 Pounds
Tomato Paste 3 oz (85 g)
Kale 2 Bunches/Bags, Washed2
Salt To Taste
Black Pepper To Taste
Crushed Red Pepper To Taste

Instructions

  1. If possible, soak beans overnight and drain.
  2. Fill pot with water and beans, bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours.
  3. Add linguiça, chouriço, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Simmer for another 2 hours, or until beans are salt.3
  4. Add tomato paste, potatoes, and kale. Cook on low for 1 hour, or until potatoes are done.
  5. Eat with plenty of cayenne-based hot sauces (our family swears by Frank’s RedHot!)

Don’t forget the love!

  1. I use Russet. 

  2. Can also use frozen. 

  3. Add boiling water if needed.
