A simple cheese sauce made from Velveeta. Perfect for savory crepe fillings or as a topping.

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Butter 2 Tablespoons
All-Purpose Flour 2 Tablespoons
Heavy Cream ¾ Cup
Velveeta 8 Ounces (2 chunks, diced or cubed small)
Salt To Taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour to create a light roux, stirring constantly for about 1 minute.
  3. Gradually pour in cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
  4. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add diced Velveeta in small batches, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Season with salt to taste after the cheese has melted (Velveeta is already salty, so add gradually).
  7. Remove from heat and serve warm.

If the sauce becomes too thick, whisk in a little more cream to reach the consistency you want.
