A simple berry compote made by cooking mixed berries down into a chunky syrup. Perfect topping for sweet crepes.

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Mixed Berries 1-2 Cups (fresh or frozen)
Lemon Juice 1 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Add berries, lemon juice, and sugar to a small pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until berries break down into a chunky syrup.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Serve warm or at room temperature; it can be made ahead and reheated gently. Use any blend of berries — raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries all work, fresh or frozen. Adjust the sugar to taste depending on how tart your berries are.
