Sauce

Ground Beef 1 Pound
Garlic 1 Clove
Tomatoes 1 Pound Can, Blended
Tomato Paste 2 6 oz (170 g) cans
Salt 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Fresh Basil 1 Tablespoon

Cheese Mixture

Ingredient Quantity
Lasagna Noodles 12
Ricotta 3 Cups
Parmesan Cheese 1/2 Cup, Grated
Eggs 2, Beaten
Salt 2 Teaspoons
Black Pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
Mozzarella Cheese 1 Pound

Preparation

  1. Sauté beef and garlic. Drain the excess grease.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, and basil. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook noodles until tender, drain.
  4. Combine ricotta, Parmesan, eggs, salt, and pepper.

Layering

Layer

  • 4 Noodles
  • 1/3 Cheese Mixture
  • 1/3 Mozzarella
  • 1/3 Sauce

Make 3 layers.

Baking

  1. Bake at 375°F (190 °C) for 30 minutes.
  2. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
