A vegetarian alternative to Clam Dip

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity  
Canned Artichoke 1 Can, Chopped 1
Lemon Juice 1 Teaspoon  
Butter 1 Stick  
Green Pepper 1 Medium, Chopped  
Onion 1 Medium, Chopped  
Garlic 3 Cloves, Minced  
Tabasco 35 Dashes2  
Bread Crumbs 1 Cup, Dried  
American Cheese Slices to Cover the Top  

Instructions

  1. Simmer chopped artichokes with canned liquid and lemon juice in small pan for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In medium frying pan, melt butter and sauté remaining ingredients except bread crumbs and cheese for 5-10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  3. Remove both pans from heat and combine with lemon juice with vegetables and bread crumbs.
  4. Place mixture in small baking dish, top with cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 minutes or microwave until dip is hot and cheese is melted.

Serve hot with crackers.
